Dick and Peggy Fletcher
The Cecil W. Fletcher Memorial Scholarship was established by Dick and Peggy Fletcher in 2020 in honor of Cecil W. Fletcher, who was valedictorian of the Archer City High School graduating class of 1953. Cecil graduated from Midwestern State University in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry. Cecil worked for the McGregor Ranch from 1958 to 1975, where he utilized his education to help with herd management. These scholarships are for graduates of Archer City High School pursuing an advanced education in ranch or agriculture management, which were Cecil’s passion, receives priority consideration, but a major in accounting, finance or general business will also qualify for consideration. While these scholarships can be utilized at any Texas school, students pursuing a degree at Midwestern State University will receive priority consideration.
This scholarship is up to $3,000 per year and is set up as a renewable scholarship (payable for 4 consecutive years), provided the standards listed below are achieved:
• Maintain enrollment in college
• Achieve a GPA of no less than 2.0 in your first year of college
• Achieve a GPA of no less than 2.5 in your 2nd – 4th year of college.
In order to receive the scholarship in your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of college, you will be required to provide a copy of your grades to continue eligibility.
